I was looking at the Bilstein HD shocks vs the Koni adjustable models. Thanks in advance! Posted By: Kit Carson on 05/18/17 05:54am I had Bilsteins I stalled on my C about 4 years go and have never regretted it. I also installed a Bilstein steering damper. So much improvement over stock stuff. KIT CARSON

Also, the Koni Sport is not designed to work with anything too low, roughly 1.5 inches or less, I believe. So, in the end, Bilstein B8 for lowering, Koni Sport for a nicer ride, possibly also better performance. A tip; if lowering anywhere near 1.5 inches or more, cut the internal Bilstein bump stops, or get shorter and slightly firmer ones for ...
I made a call today to check that they were in stock and during the call I was told that yes they were there and they had two different types available the 82 series (Part numbers 82-2296 and 82-2294) and the 90 series (Part numbers 90-5461 and 90-5462). The 82 series is around $440 a pair and the 90 series is $990 a pair.
For those not aware, the Koni Special Actives replaces the Koni FSD lineup from years ago. (Bilstein #s: 24-029780 / 24-029773, Koni #s: 8245 1114 / 8245 1113) My quick observations: shock bodies are …

The Koni FSD are not gas charged so they can be extended or retracted easily during installation. What this means is that right out of the box the Bilsteens offer a little harsher ride over small bumps like road joints. The Koni SFD shocks absorb those same road joints and pas a lot less vibrations on to the coach.

Thanks to all the IRV2 coach owners who posted info about the Koni's shocks. I am now a believer. Hopefully all Entegra's will start coming with this upgrade in the future. Maybe they already do. For anyone on the fence trying to decide if they should go with new Koni shocks on the front I suggest you go for it.
Wheels are nicely tucked in with no rubbing. I have the Koni Oranges on my V70 with lowering springs and they are similar in feel to the FSD's - neither is harsh - I'd probably give the edge in handling to the FSD's but it's hard to tell what to attribute to the shocks vs. the springs. This car isn't nearly as low as the 855.
Not a roadmaster chassis, but I went from Bilstein to Koni FSD's. Like driving a different coach, well worth the money. Foretravel tag axle 40 ft. 500 hp/1550 ft/lbs ism 1455 watts on the roof. 600 a/h's lithium down below. …

Koni has a recent development (at least for Class C's) called FSD for Frequency Sensitive Dampening. Those are the ones I'd read about. Cost is about 2x a Bilstein. Disclaimer: I do NOT have those installed. I base this on many reviews here and promotion of the FSD's at Hendersons Line Up near you in Grants Pass OR. Our crew …
I have a cup kit at the moment and although it rides comfortable, I'd like to lower the car another .75-1.0" (currently on Koni Adjustable shocks/struts, ad TEIN S-TECH springs) 2 finger gap all around After weeks of research, I have narrowed my options down to: Koni Coilovers (height and dampening adjustability) KW Variant 1 Coilovers (only …
Jan 17, 2005 #2 In a word, yes. The Sensatracs will ride better, but the Koni's will out handle and out last the Monroes hands down, not to mention they are adjustable.
The driving you to plan is a significant factor when deciding between Bilstein vs Koni shocks. Bilstein shocks are better for those who want a smooth and comfortable ride, while Konis are better suited for a more responsive and firm ride. If you frequently drive on bumpy roads or in challenging terrain, Bilsteins may not be the best option.

The B6s maintain their digressive nature, but the SAs act more like a linear piston. Where the Koni fronts have a much more digressive curve (which should be FSD), the rears look more linear in the …
KONI vs BILSTEIN. 07-01-2007, 12:43 PM. After many questions in response to me selling my set of Koni yellows for Bilstein sports, I think that we need this thread. I for one have always heard that Koni's are stiffer even on their softest setting than Bilstein sports. I have ridden in car equipped with both and agree with this idea, but this is ...
I bought Koni FSD for my 2003 36ft class A because of proposing and it dipped badly in turns. Those two things went away. Also, I noticed a real improvement with passing trucks. Should I have to get shocks for my class C they will be Koni FSD. They really are that different. I hope I can afford the cost down the road. Ha!

Koni believes this is Ford's attempt to correct some brake noise, acting like a counter balance weight, but didn't cause any issues with it gone during testing. -Ride quality is much better despite the higher rebound and lower compression. -The rears are plug & play to the stock Fiesta Koni units.
